Brainstorming Ideas and consultation with Mrs Tay

Listed below are some ideas I come up with after watching lots of videos, following plenty of massive researching on the Internet and asking so many friends.

  1. Which battery lasts the longest out of four different brands, Duracell, Energizer, Eveready and Rayovac?
  2. Is there any difference in the leaf pigments of a healthy and dying leaves?
  3. How the strength of magnets varies with temperature?
  4. When a balloon containing water is heated up over a flame, it does not burst. Why?

After having long discussions with my teacher and friends, I chose the not so tedious yet not so easy experiment, the second experiment about the difference in the leaf pigments of a healthy and dying leaves.

Consultation with Mrs Tay
During chemistry lesson, Mrs Tay gave us a free block for consultation. I went to ask her about my project. I told her that I would like to do it on the difference between the leaf pigments as a leaf dies. She said that it is a good experiment and is feasible but asked to research more on the topic and ask me to have a more specific hypothesis. She said that leaf pigments is vague and I need to include the specific names of the pigments. I was so fortunate to have my experiment in the first time so I went to research more about the specific leaf pigments and their respond to the leaf as it dies.
